Valerie Pai, M.D.

Valerie Pai, M.D.Dr. Pai is a native of the Indianapolis area. She grew up in Greenwood and attended Roncalli High School on the south side of Indianapolis. After graduating, she attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana where she received an undergraduate degree before completing her masters of science in cell biology and physiology at Purdue University. She is also a graduate of the American University of the Caribbean. During medical school, she rotated at hospitals in Ireland and Belize, where she was able to study a variety of medical environments and disease states.

Dr. Pai completed her residency in family medicine at Wright State University School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio in 2001.

She has been with Lawrence Family Care and Pediatrics for four years and is fully licensed to practice medicine in Indiana and Ohio. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Her other memberships include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, Indiana Academy of Family Physicians, Indiana State Medical Association, and the Indianapolis Medical Society. She is currently on staff at Community Hospital North/East and Community Heart and Vascular Hospital.

Dr. Pai practices primary care for newborns, children, and adults with a special interest in women’s health care and pediatric/newborn care. She is an advocate of the GO RED Campaign (, which educates women about the risk of heart disease. Her specialties include skin lesion removal/biopsy, wart removal, treatment of osteoporosis, cholesterol screening and the treatment of diabetes in the adult population.

In her free time, Dr. Pai enjoys traveling with her husband, Raj, who is an anesthesiologist at Methodist Hospital. Together, the Pais like explore the US – especially New York and Hawaii – and journey overseas to places such as Ireland, Italy, India and Indonesia.

When she’s not biking, hiking, reading, shopping or spending time with her family, Dr. Pai is an active member of the Tri Kappa Women’s Organization of Carmel, which provides service to a variety of charities in the Indianapolis area.

Dr. Pai is accepting new patients and is committed to providing comprehensive medical care for adults and children.

Vinod Pallekonda, M.D.

Vinod Pallekonda, M.D.Dr. Pallekonda immigrated to the US when he was five years old and grew up for the most part in the southern states. During his formative years, he developed a strong desire to find meaning in life and soon found his greatest satisfaction was in helping others.

His journey led him back to India, where he completed his medical school training at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal. While performing in a musical outreach, he met his wife, Sue Yeen. Together, they found that he would fulfill his desire to help others by engaging in medical missions.

Dr. Pallekonda and his wife Sue, also a physician, have four young children, Caleb, Yasmine, Daniel and Benjamin. They have made Indianapolis their home since 2000.

Outside of his commitment to medicine, his hobbies include medical missions, serving in church, spending time with his wife and children, and sports.

Jill Rogers, M.D.

Jill Rogers, M.D.Dr. Rogers is a proud graduate of the Community Family Medicine Residency Program. Born and raised in Indianapolis, she graduated from Brebeuf Jesuit High School. She earned her bachelor of science degree in chemistry at Dennison University in Granville, Ohio and attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Rogers enjoys treating patients of all ages, but has a special interest in women’s and children’s services and educating patients on preventive health. Dr. Rogers is married with two children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, bicycling and reading.

Kathryn E. McLaughlin, PA-C “Katie”

Kathryn E. McLaughlin, PA-CWelcome Katie! Katie, our new physician assistant, will be available to see patients starting in September. 

Katie McLaughlin is an Indianapolis native. She attended Cathedral High School moving on to Indiana University where she received her bachelor of science in nutrition science with minors in chemistry and biology. After graduation, she attended the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she received a master’s degree as a physician assistant. What is a physician assistant?

Katie has more than six years of health care experience working for Community Health Network in endocrinology, internal medicine and urgent care prior to joining Lawrence Family Care and Pediatrics. She enjoys working in primary care and especially enjoys treating children and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease and osteoporosis. Katie also focuses her practice on educating patients regarding proper diet, exercise, smoking cessation, medications and disease processes.

Katie is actively involved with the Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants (IAPA), serving on the board and as a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). She also serves as an adjunct professor in the Masters of Physician Assistant Studies program at the Indiana University School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in Indianapolis.

Katie is also an active volunteer in her community in Indianapolis and abroad. Katie has done medical mission work in the Dominican Republic as part of her work with Solid Rock International. Katie also organizes a yearly food drive for Gleaners Food Bank, collecting items for families in need around the holidays. In the past, she has donated her time working with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) fundraising, organizing events and educating the public on diabetes.

When she is not working, Katie enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dog Bella. She also enjoys doing home renovation projects, cooking and working out at her local Crossfit gym.
