Physicians

William Heisel, Jr., M.D.

William Heisel, Jr., M.D.Dr. Heisel received his undergraduate degree in chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then attended medical school at the University of Michigan. He graduated in 1984.

He received specialty training in both pediatrics and internal medicine at Methodist Hospital. He became board certified in internal medicine in 1988 and pediatrics in 1989.

Dr. Heisel has practiced for years as a primary care internist and pediatrician. He also has fourteen years of experience as an emergency physician at Community Hospitals.

Even before entering medical school, Dr. Heisel chose primary care as his desired specialty because of the opportunity to prevent illness and treat patients on an intimate level. He has a special interest in diagnosing and treating allergies which includes skin testing and immunotherapy-allergy shots.

Dr. Heisel lives in Carmel with his wife, Kellee, and their children Scott, Haylee, and Patrick. His outside interests include map collecting, mountain biking, skiing, rowing and hockey.


Valerie Pai, M.D.

Valerie Pai, M.D.Dr. Pai is a native of the Indianapolis area. She grew up in Greenwood and attended Roncalli High School on the south side of Indianapolis. After graduating, she attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana where she received an undergraduate degree before completing her masters of science in cell biology and physiology at Purdue University. She is also a graduate of the American University of the Caribbean. During medical school, she rotated at hospitals in Ireland and Belize, where she was able to study a variety of medical environments and disease states.

Dr. Pai completed her residency in family medicine at Wright State University School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio in 2001.

She has been with Lawrence Family Care and Pediatrics for four years and is fully licensed to practice medicine in Indiana and Ohio. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Her other memberships include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, Indiana Academy of Family Physicians, Indiana State Medical Association, and the Indianapolis Medical Society. She is currently on staff at Community Hospital North/East and The Indiana Heart Hospital.

Dr. Pai practices primary care for newborns, children, and adults with a special interest in women’s health care and pediatric/newborn care. She is an advocate of the GO RED Campaign (www.goredforwomen.org), which educates women about the risk of heart disease. Her specialties include skin lesion removal/biopsy, wart removal, treatment of osteoporosis, cholesterol screening and the treatment of diabetes in the adult population.

In her free time, Dr. Pai enjoys traveling with her husband, Raj, who is an anesthesiologist at Methodist Hospital. Together, the Pais like explore the US – especially New York and Hawaii – and journey overseas to places such as Ireland, Italy, India and Indonesia.

When she’s not biking, hiking, reading, shopping or spending time with her family, Dr. Pai is an active member of the Tri Kappa Women’s Organization of Carmel, which provides service to a variety of charities in the Indianapolis area.

Dr. Pai is accepting new patients and is committed to providing comprehensive medical care for adults and children.


Daniel Stock, M.D.

Daniel Stock, M.D.After graduating from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1988, Dr. Stock completed his residency at St. Vincent Hospital in 1989. That same year, he began in family practice before joining Lawrence Family Care in 1997.

Dr. Stock enjoys family practice because of the variety of diagnoses he is challenged to make. In his specialty, he has the opportunity to work with different patients every day.

As a Diplomat of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology, Dr. Stock has special training in the prevention of heart attack, stroke and cholesterol-related diseases. He also has strong interest in caring for patients with diabetes and osteoporosis.

When he is not spending quality time with his wife and son, Dr. Stock is an active individual who enjoys waterskiing, singing and “knocking the socks off other players in hockey.”
